01. Markha Valley Trek

The Markha Valley Trek is popular for its varied landscapes and cultural experiences. Starting from Chilling, the trail follows the Markha River through villages like Skiu, Markha, and Hankar. Trekkers see arid landscapes, green fields, and colourful prayer flags. High passes like Gandala La (4,800m) and Kongmaru La (5,200m) offer stunning views of snow-capped peaks.

Difficulty: Moderate

Duration: 8-9 days

02. Stok Kangri Trek

Stok Kangri, at 6,153 meters, is one of the highest trekkable peaks in India. Starting from Stok village, the trek passes through rugged terrain and high-altitude deserts. It’s challenging but offers breathtaking panoramic views from the top.

03. Sham Valley Trek

The Sham Valley Trek, also called the Baby Trek, is perfect for beginners. The trail goes through villages like Likir, Yangthang, and Hemis Shukpachan, offering a glimpse into traditional Ladakhi village life. Trekkers see lush apricot orchards, barley fields, and ancient monasteries.

04. Nubra Valley Trek

Highlights include views of the Karakoram range, visits to monasteries, and seeing Bactrian camels. Trekkers also learn about the local Balti culture.

05. Lamayuru to Alchi Trek
