The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) has introduced a new tourist visa called the ‘GCC Grand Tours’ visa. This visa, similar to the Schengen visa in Europe, will allow travelers to visit all six Gulf countries and stay for more than 30 days. This initiative aims to boost tourism and make travel easier across the GCC region.
GCC Grand Tours Visa
The GCC includes Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. With this new visa, the region hopes to attract more tourists by allowing them to visit multiple countries with a single visa. This will increase the number of hotel guests and enhance the region’s status as a top destination for both local and international travelers.
Announcement and Launch
Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE's Minister of Economy, announced this initiative after a discussion with representatives from various GCC tourism authorities. The joint visa plan was approved by the GCC in November 2023. Officials expect the new visa to be available later this year or in early 2025, making travel within the Gulf region much smoother.
