The Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA) has announced that Antigua and Barbuda will host the 44th Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CTM) from May 12–15, 2026, reaffirming the dual-island nation’s growing leadership in regional tourism and international conferencing.

This marks the continuation of a successful partnership between CHTA and Antigua and Barbuda, following the destination’s acclaimed hosting of the 2025 edition. The decision underscores CHTA’s confidence in Antigua and Barbuda’s capacity, innovation, and long-term commitment to the growth of Caribbean tourism.
Showcasing the Caribbean’s Strength
The Caribbean Travel Marketplace is the region’s largest and most influential tourism business forum, connecting regional suppliers, travel buyers, tour operators, and global investors. The event serves as a critical platform for building partnerships, driving trade, and showcasing the Caribbean’s resilience and innovation.

Sanovnik Destang, President of CHTA, stated,
“Marketplace continues to amplify the Caribbean’s collective voice globally. It reflects the strength, creativity, and unity that define our region. Antigua and Barbuda’s commitment to excellence makes it a fitting host once again.”
Antigua and Barbuda’s Growing Global Role
Antigua and Barbuda has rapidly emerged as one of the Caribbean’s top destinations for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE). The country recently earned the title of “Caribbean’s Best Meetings and Conference Destination” at the World Travel Awards.
The island has hosted major international gatherings, including last year’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace, the OAS Conference, and is preparing to welcome the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, said,
“We are proud to once again host the Caribbean Travel Marketplace. It reinforces our commitment to fostering partnerships and driving growth across the Caribbean tourism industry.”
Infrastructure, Connectivity, and Cooperation
Antigua and Barbuda’s continued investment in infrastructure, hospitality, and aviation connectivity has made it a natural choice for international events. Regional and global air links will remain a key focus during Marketplace 2026, with collaboration between government agencies, airlines, and tourism boards to ensure enhanced accessibility across the Caribbean.
The CHTA also reaffirmed its Disaster Response Fund, designed to assist member destinations affected by natural calamities such as Hurricane Melissa, underlining the association’s commitment to unity and recovery.
A Symbol of Caribbean Unity
Hosting CTM 2026 positions Antigua and Barbuda as a beacon of regional cooperation and progress, bringing together the Caribbean’s top tourism leaders, stakeholders, and innovators. The event is expected to generate significant economic, promotional, and diplomatic benefits, showcasing the islands’ ability to deliver world-class hospitality while embodying the Caribbean’s collective spirit.
