As India’s wedding season approaches, couples across the country are mapping out their dream getaways—and this year’s data from Agoda paints a fascinating picture of where newlyweds are heading in 2025. From golden beaches and heritage cities to exotic islands, Indian honeymooners are blending adventure, romance, and luxury in their travel choices.
Goa Still Reigns Supreme
For the second year running, Goa has claimed the top spot as India’s most-loved honeymoon destination. Its unique mix of sun-kissed beaches, boutique resorts, and vibrant culinary culture makes it the perfect romantic escape. The state continues to offer the ideal balance of serenity and nightlife, where couples can unwind on quiet shores by day and celebrate love under starlit skies.
Joining Goa on the list is Udaipur, which has seen a sharp rise in popularity for its lakeside palaces, royal hospitality, and dreamy ambience. Often referred to as the “City of Lakes,” Udaipur has become the go-to destination for couples who want luxury intertwined with tradition.
Meanwhile, Mumbai offers a cosmopolitan touch with its skyline views and seaside drives, ranking third on Agoda’s domestic honeymoon list. Completing the top five are Jaipur and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, with the latter making its debut this year. The Andamans’ secluded beaches and clear blue waters are drawing couples who want a tropical escape without leaving the country.
International Romance: Dubai Dominates, Phu Quoc Rises
When it comes to international honeymoons, Indian couples are choosing both glam and calm. Dubai tops the global list, continuing its reign as a luxurious playground with its five-star resorts, desert adventures, and endless shopping experiences.
Close behind are Thailand’s classic favourites—Phuket and Bangkok—which remain irresistible for their beaches, culture, and cuisine. But the biggest surprise of 2025 is Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island, which has witnessed a massive 700 percent surge in search interest from Indian travellers.
Phu Quoc, known for its pristine beaches, lush landscapes, and affordable luxury, has climbed from outside the top ten to become one of Asia’s most sought-after romantic getaways. The island’s peaceful vibe and emerging luxury resorts are redefining how newlyweds experience tropical holidays.
A Blend of Discovery and Romance
According to Gaurav Malik, Country Director for the Indian Subcontinent and Indian Ocean Islands at Agoda, Indian travellers are increasingly seeking experiences that combine romance with exploration. “Honeymoons are among the most meaningful journeys couples take, and Indian travellers are showing a growing preference for destinations that offer both intimacy and discovery,” he said.
Whether it’s relaxing in a Goan beach shack, gliding across Udaipur’s lakes, or exploring Vietnam’s hidden coves, the 2025 honeymoon trends reveal that couples are prioritising experiences over extravagance. The new generation of travellers wants memorable moments, authentic experiences, and destinations that speak to their sense of adventure.

From Goa’s shimmering coastlines to Phu Quoc’s tropical allure, India’s honeymoon trends for 2025 reflect a shift toward mindful, meaningful travel. Couples are looking for places that offer not just beauty but connection—where romance meets discovery.
