Navi Mumbai is preparing for a transformation unlike any other. Instead of honking traffic and daily commutes, the city will echo with roaring engines and screeching tyres under dazzling floodlights. December 2025 marks a historic moment as Maharashtra hosts its first ever Formula night street race, making Navi Mumbai the stage for the season finale of the Indian Racing Festival. The announcement followed a partnership between Racing Promotions Pvt. Ltd. and the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who called it a milestone in the state’s motorsport journey.
A Circuit Through The City
The heart of Navi Mumbai will soon beat to the rhythm of motorsport. The specially designed FIA certified circuit will stretch across 3.753 kilometres with 14 sharp turns winding along Palm Beach Road and skirting Nerul Lake. The anti clockwise track will test skill, stamina, and precision, promising a dramatic show of speed against the glittering city skyline. Inspired by iconic street circuits in Singapore, Monaco, and Baku, the Navi Mumbai track will bring the same electric atmosphere to India.
Chief Minister Fadnavis highlighted that the event will not only inspire young talent but also boost tourism and generate new jobs. For Navi Mumbai, it is an opportunity to showcase its ability to host global scale events that blend sport, technology, and entertainment.
The Grand Finale Weekend
The finale of the Indian Racing Festival will bring double the excitement with a night time double header. Fans will witness the high voltage races of the Indian Racing League alongside the FIA certified Formula 4 Indian Championship. The Indian Racing League is especially notable as the world’s first gender neutral motorsport league, featuring both male and female drivers on the same teams.
Akhilesh Reddy, chairman of RPPL, called Navi Mumbai the perfect backdrop for this ambitious event, combining the thrill of racing with the city’s modern landscape.
Speed Meets Star Power
Like every great sporting spectacle in India, this one comes with a glamorous edge. The Indian Racing League teams are backed by celebrities including John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Sourav Ganguly, Sudeep Kichcha, Naga Chaitanya, and Dr. Swetha Sundeep Anand. Their presence guarantees that the race will attract not only motorsport enthusiasts but also a wider audience seeking the perfect mix of speed, glamour, and entertainment.
The Indian Racing Festival has already made a mark with successful events in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Coimbatore. Goa is set to host its debut race in November before the spotlight shifts to Navi Mumbai for the much anticipated season finale.
A Global Stage For Maharashtra
When the engines roar this December, Navi Mumbai will join an exclusive global club of cities that have turned their streets into world class racing circuits. For fans, it will be a weekend where adrenaline and city lights collide, creating an unforgettable spectacle. For Maharashtra, it is a chance to establish itself as a serious contender on the global motorsport map.
