In the latest evaluation by Airports Council International (ACI) World, Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport has achieved a notable ranking, placing 10th among the world's busiest airports in 2023. This position underscores the airport's significant role in the global aviation landscape and its substantial passenger traffic.

Robust Growth Amid Challenges:

In 2023, IGI Airport welcomed over 72.2 million travelers, reflecting a significant growth rate of 20.36% compared to the previous year. This growth is indicative of the strong recovery trajectory within India's aviation sector, despite facing ranking shifts. Previously ranked 9th in 2022, Delhi Airport slightly fell in the rankings due to the ascension of Chicago's O'Hare Airport.

This resurgence has also seen Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport maintain its top position, with Dubai International Airport rising to second place, surpassing Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Delhi Airport’s Position and Impact:

Despite the slight drop from its previous year's ranking, Delhi Airport continues to hold a strong position among the top ten, demonstrating resilience and ongoing growth in passenger traffic.
