With the yatra commencing on the auspicious day of Akshay Tritiya, roads to the temples are particularly busy. The Uttarkashi Police has issued guidelines to manage the flow and ensure safety.

 

Specific Routes for Pilgrims

1. Rishikesh to Gangotri

  • Route: Narendranagar → Chamba → Dharasu Band → Uttarkashi → Gangotri
  • Pilgrims will return via the same route.

2. Rishikesh to Yamunotri

  • Route: Narendranagar → Chamba → Dharasu Band → Brahmakhal → Radi Top → Dobata → Jankichatti

3. Dehradun to Yamunotri

  • Route: Dehradun → Damta → Naugaon → Barkot → Dobata → Jankichatti

4. Yamunotri to Gangotri

  • Route: Jankichatti → Dobata → Radi Top → Brahmakhal → Dharasu Band → Uttarkashi → Gangotri

5. Gangotri to Kedarnath and Badrinath

  • Route: Harsil → Bhatwadi → Gangotri → Tekhala → Mando → Manpur → Chowringhee → Lambgaon → Srinagar

6. Gangotri to Rishikesh

  • Avoid: Harshil, Bhatwadi, Gangotri, and Tekhala bridges
  • Take: Mando → Joshiada → Manera → Badethi → Matali → Dharasu

7. Heavy Goods Vehicle Ban

  • Time: No heavy trucks in urban areas from 9 AM to 9 p.m.
