Ayodhya, the heart of India’s spiritual heritage, is shining brighter than ever. Following the consecration of the grand Ram Temple earlier this year, the city is ready to captivate visitors once again with a first-of-its-kind attraction — the Ramayana Wax Museum. Scheduled to open during Deepotsav 2025, the museum promises a deeply immersive experience that celebrates the devotion, mythology, and artistry of India’s most revered epic.

A Divine Blend Of Faith And Art

Spread across 9,850 square feet along the Chaudah Kosi Parikrama route, opposite Kashiram Colony, the Ramayana Wax Museum has been built at a cost of ₹6 crore. The structure reflects traditional South Indian architectural beauty and features two expansive floors filled with lifelike wax figures and meticulously designed scenes from the Ramayana.

Inside, visitors will find 50 wax sculptures depicting iconic characters including Lord Ram, Mata Sita, Hanuman, Ravana, and Vibhishan. Each statue has been crafted with remarkable detail, illuminated with specialized lighting to enhance facial expressions and costumes. The ground floor illustrates Ram Lalla’s childhood and Sita’s swayamvar, while the upper level showcases scenes from exile, Lanka Dahan, and the legendary battle between Ram and Ravana, brought to life through 3D light projections and sound effects.

A Sensory Experience Of Devotion

The museum is not just visual — it engages all senses. As guests enter through a grand gateway graced by Lord Ganesha, the air fills with the scent of sandalwood and the rhythm of Ram bhajans. The constant chant of the “Ram Tarak Mantra” creates a serene spiritual energy that immerses visitors instantly.

A dedicated selfie zone beside a statue of young Ram allows families and devotees to capture special moments. To preserve the tranquil atmosphere, the museum maintains a temperature-controlled 22°C environment and limits entry to 100 visitors at a time, ensuring a calm and comfortable experience for everyone.

Bridging North And South Through Craftsmanship

The Ramayana Wax Museum has been designed and executed by Sunil’s Wax Museum, the Kerala-based firm behind the acclaimed wax galleries in Lonavala and Thiruvananthapuram. This collaboration represents a remarkable fusion of North Indian spirituality and South Indian craftsmanship, setting a new benchmark for cultural tourism in India.

The project also contributes to Ayodhya’s broader vision of sustainable cultural growth. Managed jointly with the Municipal Corporation, the museum will allocate 12 percent of its revenue to civic development initiatives, helping the local community prosper alongside the city’s expanding tourism landscape.

A Complete Pilgrimage Experience

Beyond its artistic grandeur, the museum complex offers a full-day experience. The surrounding area includes ample parking, a café, food kiosks, and an entertainment zone. Visitors can enjoy authentic regional cuisines while reflecting on the divine stories they’ve just witnessed. With round-the-clock security, CCTV coverage, and emergency exits, the facility ensures both comfort and safety for visitors.

With an entry fee of just ₹100, the Ramayana Wax Museum is poised to become a must-visit attraction for devotees, tourists, and art lovers. It beautifully blends devotion, innovation, and heritage — a glowing tribute to Ayodhya’s timeless connection with the Ramayana.
