Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, one of the UAE’s most beloved water parks, is set to take the thrill factor up several notches. Starting July 1, visitors will be able to experience a massive new expansion that introduces more than 20 exciting rides, slides, and attractions. With this new phase, the park’s offerings grow to over 60 water based experiences, making it one of the largest and most diverse waterparks in the region. Located on Yas Island, a hub for entertainment and leisure, Yas Waterworld’s expansion marks a major moment in Abu Dhabi’s tourism calendar.

Covering over 13,000 square meters, the new section is designed around the theme of the Lost City. It continues the park’s original story titled “The Legend of the Lost Pearl,” adding a layer of narrative richness and immersive adventure to the rides. The Lost City creates a sense of exploration, where every turn and slide is part of a journey waiting to unfold. This isn't just about water fun. It is about discovering something new with every step.

Among the major attractions in this new zone is Al Mafras, a twisting desert themed slide built for kids. With soft curves and gentle drops, it gives young adventurers a thrill that is both exciting and safe. For a sharper rush, Red Dunes delivers an adrenaline pumping ride through a closed aqua tube with sharp twists and dark tunnels that amplify the fun.

Guests looking for head to head action can test their courage on Al Falaj Race, the first duelling tube raft race in the region. Riders launch side by side, racing through steep slopes and wild turns to see who emerges first in a heart racing finish. For younger thrill seekers, Al Sahel Junior offers the region’s first mini zero gravity boomerang slide, giving a taste of speed and air time in a kid friendly format. Dawwama Junior brings a toned down version of the park’s signature tornado slide so even little ones can feel the rush.

For those who prefer multi sensory experiences, the new additions also include Mataha Madness, a maze like slide filled with twists and turns, and Sadaf Swirl, which pulls riders into a spinning whirlpool. One of the more daring rides is Bahamut’s Rage, a high drama log flume that takes riders through steep drops and powerful splashes. It is crafted for those who love a combination of speed, water, and cinematic storytelling.

Families will also enjoy Bandit’s Playground, an interactive splash zone where children can explore water jets, hidden levers, and surprise features. Located inside the new Bandit’s Village area, it encourages playful learning while keeping everyone cool. The design of the village blends adventure with accessibility, making it easy for families to navigate and spend quality time together.

This expansion is a key part of Miral’s vision to turn Yas Island into a globally recognized destination for leisure and entertainment. Dr. Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, stated that this bold new phase reflects the brand’s commitment to creating joyful, world class attractions that appeal to all age groups. The expansion not only enhances the tourism value of Abu Dhabi but also supports the city’s broader goals of economic diversification and family focused tourism.

Yas Waterworld has long been known for its themed storytelling, unique attractions, and cultural roots. With this new addition, it reinforces its reputation as not just a waterpark, but an experience rich destination. Whether you are an adventure lover, a family with young kids, or a solo traveller looking to beat the heat, the expanded park ensures there is something new to discover at every corner.

As summer temperatures soar, Yas Waterworld is offering the perfect escape with more splash zones, more excitement, and more reasons to return. The new rides promise endless moments of joy, thrill, and unforgettable memories.
