India is taking a bold leap into world class tourism with the announcement of its first Disneyland style amusement park, proposed in Manesar, Haryana. The ambitious project was revealed by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who described the park as a landmark step toward turning the state into a major global tourism and cultural hub.

Planned across 500 acres of land near the Kundli Manesar Palwal Expressway and the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, the park is expected to draw both domestic and international tourists. Its strategic location near Delhi ensures excellent connectivity for visitors from across the country, making it one of the most accessible mega amusement projects India has ever seen.

According to government officials, land acquisition is already underway and preliminary conversations with global partners have begun. Although there has been no official agreement signed with the Walt Disney Company yet, the state government has stated that all key stakeholders have been contacted to take the project forward.

Beyond fun and entertainment, the proposed park is expected to bring enormous economic and social benefits. It could generate thousands of new jobs, drive up real estate growth in the Manesar and Pachgaon regions, and significantly boost the local hospitality and tourism industry. The project could also serve as a blueprint for future entertainment hubs in India.

The announcement has come alongside plans to expand Haryana’s cultural footprint. The Surajkund Crafts Mela, one of the country’s most celebrated cultural festivals, will now be held three times a year. The state will also introduce a Diwali Fair and a dedicated Book Fair to celebrate its rich heritage. In addition, the government has requested increased support for the International Gita Mahotsav held annually in Kurukshetra.

While the proposal has sparked political debates, with opposition leaders recalling similar plans rejected in the past, the current government insists that the new plan is farmer friendly and responsibly planned. Unlike earlier proposals, this project is limited to 500 acres and promises to respect local stakeholders’ rights and concerns.

Globally, Disneyland parks have become iconic cultural destinations in cities like Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Orlando. If the Manesar park lives up to its promise, it could be India’s own step toward creating a tourism experience that blends international standards with regional flavor.

As India continues to rise as a global destination for travelers, the Manesar amusement park could become a milestone moment in the country’s journey toward experiential tourism.
