Service Details and Aircraft

The service will utilize 200 electric vertical takeoffs and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, each capable of carrying four passengers and a pilot. These eVTOL aircraft are similar to helicopters but are quieter and safer, making them ideal for urban travel.

Pricing and Accessibility

The estimated fare for this quick, seven-minute flight will range from INR 2,000 to 3,000. This pricing makes it an accessible option for many looking for a fast commute between these two major cities.

Regulatory and Certification Progress

Archer Aviation is in the advanced stages of obtaining necessary certifications from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), with plans to begin similar processes with India's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) next year.

Anticipated Benefits

The air taxi service not only promises to reduce travel time between Connaught Place and Gurugram from 90 minutes to just 7 minutes but also aims to offer an eco-friendly alternative to conventional road transport, potentially easing traffic congestion.

Infrastructure and Planning

Discussions are underway to set up the required infrastructure, such as vertiports and charging stations, to support the operation of these air taxis, ensuring a seamless integration into the existing urban landscape.
