Challenges and Declines

Despite the overall progress, India’s score is 2.1% lower than in 2019 due to global inflation and supply issues, impacting price competition and the recovery of air transport and tourist services.

Global Travel Outlook

With the lifting of COVID-19 travel restrictions and increased demand for travel, the World Economic Forum expects international tourist arrivals and the travel and tourism sector's contribution to global GDP to return to pre-pandemic levels, boosting the global industry.
