Discover Vantara: Anant Ambani's Wildlife Sanctuary in Jamnagar
Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh Ambani, has launched Vantara, a sprawling wildlife sanctuary set to be the world's largest zoo and rehab centre. Spanning 3,000 acres within Reliance's Jamnagar Refinery Complex, Vantara aims to provide a safe haven for abused, injured, and endangered animals. More than just a zoo, it's a holistic rehab centre that recreates natural habitats for rescued animals.
Supported by Reliance Industries and the Reliance Foundation, Vantara collaborates with renowned organisations like the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF). The centre houses cutting-edge healthcare facilities, research centres, and academic institutions, with a global focus on animal rescue and rehabilitation.
Vantara has already saved over 200 elephants and various other species, including rhinos and crocodiles. Noteworthy is its Elephant Rescue Centre, equipped with advanced medical facilities and a dedicated staff ensuring the well-being of these majestic creatures.
With a team of 2,100, Vantara's Rescue & Rehabilitation Centre has provided refuge to over 2,000 animals of 43 different species. Rooted in the philosophy of 'jeev seva' (serving living beings), inspired by Swami Vivekananda, Vantara aims to protect endangered species, restore habitats, and contribute to global conservation efforts.
Anant Ambani's commitment to wildlife preservation aligns with Reliance's sustainable energy goals, making it a Net Carbon Zero company by 2035. Vantara signifies a pioneering effort in wildlife conservation, addressing immediate needs while sparking conversations on coexistence. As it unfolds, Vantara promises to lead global initiatives for biodiversity preservation.
